It's nearly Christmas. I'm not religious at all. I was never baptized so I can't even say I am a lapsed anything or former whatever. I was born into an LDS (Mormon) household but my folks dropped that bag when they split up. Because of my lack of Christian up bringing (I do have values and morals they just aren't Jesus based) I don't really have the depth of feeling about Christmas that many of my peers do. Really Christmas is a bribe. A bribe to get everyone back together so soon after Thanksgiving. We bribe each other with gifts to spend a little time with each other. I suppose that is good enough. Christmas is a little reminder that i do have family and that they do care. I try to look at the day as an opportunity to express how I feel about people. Good or bad. The good does out weight the bad. Which makes for an expensive gift giving season. Thanks Jesus.
